Job Description

Communications Technician Supervisor

Town of Herndon, Virginia

Provide hands-on supervision and oversee communications operations for Herndon Police Department. Ensure equipment is working properly, schedule and supervise work of Communications Technicians; answer incoming and outgoing calls; receive and transmit information, complaints, and requests for assistance; ensure timely processing of incoming warrants, detention orders and protective orders; supervise/audit VCIN/NCIC entries and validation; prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports.  Required to serve on-call for communications emergencies and non-emergencies. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years as police dispatcher including 2+ years supervisory experience.  Must be a United States citizen and a lawful resident of the United States for the past 10 consecutive years.  Requires VCIN/NCIC certification or ability to obtain.  $49,690+ DOQ.
