Marin County Sheriff's Office returns as Airbus DS Communications customer with install of NG9-1-1 system

The Marin County (CA) Sheriff’s Office marked a new chapter with its move to a new, expanded call center and its return to the Airbus DS Communications VESTA® 9-1-1 solution after years of using another system.

Lee Ann Magoski, Marin County Sheriff’s Office Communications Manager, says there are many things about the VESTA 9-1-1 solution that made it the right choice for them including the ability to customize the user interface, the instant call recorder, and the ability to have geo-diversity with Marin County’s partners in the areas.

“As we upgraded our 9-1-1 operations - everything from facility to phones to software - we focused on preparing ourselves for the future of NG9-1-1,” said Magoski. “We looked for a system that could grow and expand with our capacity needs and a partner that could work with us as an extension of our team. The VESTA 9-1-1 solution is perfect for us and, now that it is up and running, it feels like coming back home for the dispatchers.”

In 2013, Marin County processed more than 135,000 calls—41,000 for emergency 9-1-1 calls and 94,000 for law enforcement, fire rescue and medical services.
