The Contra Costa County (CA) Fire Protection District recently took delivery of a new LDV mobile command center. This well thought out design includes seven workstations as well as conference room seating in the rear. The design of this unit allows for extreme flexibility for various response scenarios. Contra Costa selected a Freightliner M2 chassis and a 102" wide by 30' long all aluminum custom body with four slide out rooms that extend and drop down to provide a flat floor in the entire vehicle.

The unit also includes custom fabricated aluminum cabinets, upholstery and countertops as well as LDV's exclusive automation control system that minimizes start up time and procedures, reduces the risk of operator error and maximizes vehicle safety.  The automation system is controlled via onboard touchscreens or the included tablet, providing maximum flexibility.  The

extensive suite of electronics in the vehicle includes a mast mounted aircraft video downlink, communications radios in various frequencies to allow communications with multiple agencies, a digital video system, Apple TV, mast mounted IP cameras, satellite broadband antenna and VOIP capabilities.
