NICE Systems’ nominations are now open for the 2014 PSAPs’ Finest Awards, an annual recognition program for public safety communications professionals.

Nominations are accepted in four PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) categories: Director, Line Supervisor, Technician, and Telecommunicator of the Year. Now in its ninth year, the PSAPs’ Finest awards program has recognized 36 individuals since its inception.

Winners are selected by a panel of judges who evaluate candidates based on their achievements, knowledge, and years of service to public safety. For 2014, the judging panel includes: Lieutenant Peter Brower, Commanding Officer, Tape and Records Unit, New York City Police Department; Ann E. Flynn, Director, 911 Emergency Communications, Cobb County, Georgia; and Gary Loflin, Director, York County Public Safety Communications, South Carolina.

Nominations can be submitted on the NICE website through June 1, 2014. Winners will be announced in August at the 80th Annual APCO Conference and Expo in a special ceremony at the NICE booth.

Questions regarding the 2014 PSAPs’ Finest Awards can be sent to Welcome@NICE.com.
