APS to Offer CompassCom AVL Solution to Law Enforcement

Advanced Public Safety (APS), a leading provider of electronic ticketing software for public safety agencies, has announced that it is offering CompassCom’s Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) solution for law enforcement agencies. The software is used to more efficiently locate and dispatch vehicles in order to significantly reduce response times and help save lives.

As part of the APS product portfolio, CompassCom software offers a cost-effective AVL solution that enables law enforcement agencies to monitor and track vehicles in its fleet. The vehicle data is automatically updated every few seconds along with the speed, direction of travel and other information about the vehicle. Optional features include the activation of emergency lights and sirens, shotgun dismounted or officer needs assistance. The AVL solution provides public safety organizations with information to increase officer safety and allow command staff to direct patrol around user specified geo-fenced “Hot Spots” for high crime areas. The deployment of the CompassCom AVL solution is flexible, scalable and can serve on a standalone basis or integrated into an agency’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) or a Motorola Astro system.
