Communications International Debuts Turnkey Construction Division with Public Safety Project in Ontario County, NY
Communications International, Inc. (“Ci”) has assumed the role of General Contractor for the new Ontario County, New York P25 700MHz Trunked Simulcast Radio System. Ci is a leading systems integrator of wireless voice, data and network technologies, and this construction project showcases its ability to serve as a key integrator from start (construction) to finish (ongoing maintenance).
In this $3.4 million project, slated for completion in March of 2012, Ci is utilizing its unique ability to build a communications site from scratch and provide a turnkey construction solution to Ontario County.
“We are confident that Ci’s background in radio and communications systems allows its team to plan and execute the sites with the expert knowledge of the end product’s operational parameters,” said Tom Harvey, associate planner for Ontario County. “This type of multi-level understanding of the system and its functionality is an advantage Ci brings to the General Contractor position.”
A total of 16 shelter sites are being constructed throughout the county to house the new Alcatel Lucent radios, also to be installed by Ci. Additionally, Ci will oversee the construction of 16 towers, install the microwave dishes on those towers, and install the shelter electronics responsible for powering the county’s new radio network.
Ci will be responsible for running a full test and turn up of the radio system, and then integrating Harris Corporation’s P25 Trunked Radio Network with the newly installed Alcatel Translucent radio products.
