Flint Michigan PD Embraces Total Evidence Management Strategy
The Flint Michigan Police Department has received an in-car video solution for their 50 patrol cars from Insight Video Net and their integrator partner, Security Countermeasures. Flint PD will be using Insight Video’s in-car video software, MMS (Mobile Management System) and wirelessly uploading the video to the company’s Digital Evidence Management System, CMS Flex.
In addition to in-car video, Flint PD plans to use CMS Flex to manage their crime scene and other photographs, police audio recordings, 9-1-1 calls, jail cell video, sally port video, and other fixed camera recordings.
According to Police Chief Alvern Lock, "This solution not only allows our officers to save a significant amount of time by automatically uploading the video from the vehicles to the CMS Flex server, it allows any digital assets collected from across the county to be managed in the same database, providing a total evidence management solution that can be used for case management. This solution was the simplest and easiest to use by far."
