Pioneer Cellular Partners with Intrado to Offer Text to 9-1-1
Pioneer Cellular, in their continuing effort to provide the best possible public safety services to subscribers and roaming partners, recently selected Intrado to provide three digit, 9-1-1 text messaging capability with Intrado TXT29-1-1®. TXT29-1-1 is a valuable public safety service allowing all subscribers on Pioneer Cellular’s network to have access to lifesaving public safety services. In an increasingly mobile world, texting is a widely used form of
communication. While a voice call is the preferred method of making an emergency call, the ability to text 9-1-1 can be an essential lifeline in situations where a voice call cannot be made safely. Text to 9-1-1 is also a critical form of communication for the over 36 million deaf and hard of hearing citizens in the United States.
“We are pleased to partner with Intrado to further enhance safety services for our wireless customers,” said Jeff Martin, vice president of sales and service. “TXT29-1-1 will provide our wireless users with speech or hearing disabilities the same access for assistance in emergency situations as those who dial 9-1-1.”
Pioneer Cellular selected Intrado based on its long-standing relationship for voice enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) services. Intrado is a leader in the 9-1-1 services industry and has over four years of proven production TXT29-1-1 experience.
