eCrash Simplifies Accident Reporting at No Charge to Law Enforcement Agencies

LexisNexis Risk Solutions has announced an agreement to integrate eCrash, an electronic crash report management system, with CODY Systems’ Records Anywhere Record Management System (RMS).  With this announcement, CODY customers nationwide are now able to take advantage of this integrated solution.

“With law enforcement agencies continuing to face budget constraints, LexisNexis eCrash offers a solution to help them improve and automate the process of collecting and disseminating crash information,” said Roy Marler, Vice President and General Manager, Emerging Markets,  LexisNexis Risk Solutions.  “These efficiencies allow officers to focus on essential services to help protect the communities they serve.  The partnership we have formed with CODY will help better serve this market, and we look forward to working together.”

eCrash enables law enforcement agencies to fully automate and integrate with CODY Systems’ RMS solutions to better manage the entire accident reporting process, including RMS incident creation.  This results in significant time/cost savings, reduced errors, more effective information sharing and enhanced investigative capabilities, freeing law enforcement to focus more on fulfilling their mission of protecting people and their communities and removing much of the administrative burden.

In addition to increased efficiencies, LexisNexis eCrash provides law enforcement agencies with the following benefits:

  • Improves service to the public by allowing involved parties to purchase reports online, 24/7
  • Decreases walk-in and mail report requests, and eliminates the agency’s need to input accident data
  • Improves investigative strength by providing easy access to accident/crash reports and those of other participating agencies

Through the full integration of LexisNexis eCrash with CODY Systems’ RMS, law enforcement agencies receive the dual benefits of a leading-edge RMS Anywhere solution combined with a traffic crash reporting system.  This combined solution supports strategies to reduce traffic related accidents, injuries and fatalities and improve officer safety.  With direct access to this tool from inside their CODY RMS system, this system fosters improved communication and interoperability between public safety agencies at the local, state, regional and federal level to help improve tactical awareness and officer safety and reduce administrative overheard.
