New 9-1-1 Consortium in Muskogee County, OK implements New World's Public Safety Software

The integrated software will help the newly consolidated dispatch center and agencies in Muskogee County, Oklahoma enhance emergency response and community safety countywide

The Muskogee City/County Enhanced 9-1-1 Trust Authority (OK) is implementing new technology that will enable information sharing and improve communication between all county public safety agencies. The Trust Authority recently signed a contract to license New World Systems’ Aegis Suite of Public Safety software on the Microsoft® platform to replace multiple disparate systems at public safety agencies throughout Muskogee County. The new solutions are part of a large consolidation project that will bring five Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) together to better serve and protect residents countywide.

“When we were planning to combine all of the County PSAPs, we knew we would have to find a multi-agency, multi-discipline solution that would bring all of the agencies together electronically on the same system, as well as physically into the same building,” said Darryl Maggard, 9-1-1 Director.

New World is providing the Trust Authority and participating public safety agencies with Aegis Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management and Mobile Computing software developed in-house using proven Microsoft® technology, industry-standard Windows® Server and SQL® Server. The completely integrated solutions will ensure all related safety and crime information is tied together in a single system and securely available to agencies across the county. New World’s CAD solution with embedded ESRI mapping technology will ensure that County dispatchers and first responders always have immediate access to location information during emergencies. Advanced workflow and a familiar Windows environment will also help Muskogee County agencies become more efficient and enable them to analyze their data to determine the best resource allocation to better serve the County.

“For the first time in the history of Muskogee County, the dispatch center and all of the law enforcement agencies will utilize the same public safety system and be able to share information seamlessly across jurisdictional lines,” said Maggard. “New World’s software will help our agencies connect the dots to bring crime rates down.”

According to Maggard, implementation is going well and the solutions are scheduled to go live this summer as the consolidated dispatch center is completed. Once live, New World’s solutions will help the Muskogee City/County Enhanced 9-1-1 Trust Authority better serve 14 fire departments, six police departments, the Sheriff’s Office, an EMS agency and other state, tribal and federal law enforcement agencies, improving emergency response and safety for more than 71,000 County residents.
