Bracken County, KY Selects PTS Solutions as CAD & Mapping Vendor

The Bracken County Sheriff’s Office and Bracken County E9-1-1 Center announced it has selected PTS Solutions as its new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and mapping provider. The 9-1-1 Office will use the new software to dispatch officers and to map call locations and incidents.

“The new PTS software system will help our dispatchers keep track of all of the calls for service we receive, which units are assigned to those calls, the current status of each unit, and other types of emergency information,” explained 9-1-1 Director Tony Mains. “The system will basically serve as a computerized activity board of what is going on with incidents and units at any given moment across the county.”

PTS CAD Solutions provides a method to record times, addresses, complainants and other information related to the call. In addition, PTS CAD displays the status of all open incidents and units on duty, allowing quick access to vital records and information. Using PTS CAD, dispatchers will manage calls for service, radio logs, traffic stops, wrecker rotations, premise information such as hazards and alarm contacts and more. For officer safety, the system notifies dispatchers when officers have not checked in after a specified time period. To help speed up response time, the mapping system will identify incident locations directly on the map from the information passed through from the incoming 9-1-1 call.

“This allows our dispatchers to quickly pinpoint 9-1-1 calls and other emergency calls for service on an interactive map,” Mains said. “Saving time is vital in emergency services and getting our people out to the correct location in the shortest period of time possible is a major part of our duty to the citizens of Bracken County.”

Installation and training on the PTS Computer Aided Dispatch and Mapping System is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks. The entire system should be up and running by the end of the summer.
