Harris County, Texas Recommits to Tiburon
After a thorough evaluation process, Harris County, Texas has signed a contract with Tiburon to provide an enhancement to their law enforcement agencies’ mission critical computer systems including the County’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Mobile Data and Records Management System (RMS) solutions. While Tiburon is the County’s current solutions provider, the decision to upgrade the County’s CAD, Mobile and RMS was one likely to have significant long-term consequences and thus the County’s decision to thoroughly consider all options before selecting its partner of the future.
"Given the current challenging economic environment, every public safety agency has a responsibility to make sure they are spending the taxpayers’ money wisely," said Tiburon’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Bealmear. "While we’re proud to have been a long-time solutions provider to the County, we knew we couldn’t rest on our laurels. We needed to prove once again that our products, our level of service and the strength and commitment of our entire company all exceeded the requirements of the third most-populous county in the United States."
Tiburon’s software solutions provide dispatching and records management resources for eleven different Harris County law enforcement agencies in a coordinated manner using consolidated resources and systems to maximize their efficiency. “We look forward to completing this enhancement in a time frame of just over one year and providing state of the art tools for our street level police services,” said Ron Hickman, Precinct 4 Constable. “This is just one step in developing increased technology in a region with the heaviest concentration of Tiburon systems in Texas. The funds provided for this project come from Federal monies from the Urban Area Safety Initiative (UASI). As always, Harris County is watching closely the expenditures of these highly coveted funds and has a team dedicated to working with Tiburon to develop a system our area can be proud of.”
