Steuben County, NY 9-1-1 Chooses Tiburon

The Steuben County 9-1-1 Department in New York has selected Tiburon to provide it with the company’s DispatchNow product for computer-assisted dispatch and mobile communications. The County becomes part of the cloud computing trend in state and local government by selecting the cloud-based version of DispatchNow.

Located in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Steuben County covers roughly 1400 square miles with a population of approximately 100,000 people and is characterized by rural agricultural areas, quaint small towns, and small city communities.  The 911 Department is the only PSAP within the jurisdiction and provides law enforcement, fire department and EMS dispatching for the County’s 46 Fire Departments, 3 large police departments, 9 smaller community police departments, 22 in-county EMS departments and to the New York State Police serving the County along with supporting mutual aid needs for communities in neighboring Pennsylvania.

By selecting the cloud computing version of Tiburon’s DispatchNow software, the County was not required to purchase expensive computer servers nor expend precious IT resources on configuring and maintaining them.  The subscription pricing model for DispatchNow also means the County did not have to come up with a large capital budget for the initial license, installation and implementation costs – instead they pay a low annual subscription fee to use the software.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve Steuben County and provide a solution that ensures the safety of the communities that they serve," said Tiburon Marketing Director, Kirke Curtis. "It is a privilege to offer such a powerful system that improves the safety of the community while saving both time and money."
