Industry leader celebrates milestone of providing custom-built, high-end ambulances nationwide

Road Rescue, a leading manufacturer of premium, custom-built, crew-centric ambulances is commemorating its 40th anniversary of providing emergency response vehicles to municipalities across the United States. Road Rescue is a member of the REV Ambulance Group, one of the world’s largest and best-positioned independent suppliers of Type I, II and III emergency vehicles.

“40 years is an impressive milestone in this industry and to witness the pride our employees take in building such outstanding, top of market products, it is an honor to be a part of Road Rescue,” said Bob Collins, President, REV Ambulance Group. “When we hear the stories and feedback from the EMTs and fire personnel using our vehicles everyday, it is extremely gratifying and motivates us to keep creating ambulances that are some of the safest and highest quality in the industry.”

The first Road Rescue rolled off the assembly line in October 1976.  In the four decades that followed, Road Rescue created and implemented many “firsts” and innovations in the industry, all designed with safety and ease of use for first responders.

Some of the Road Rescue innovations include:

  • Expedited delivery - 90-120 days
  • “Whisper Quiet” interior - virtually eliminates outside noise, giving crews the ability to manage a patient’s vital signs without distractions
  • Medical device rail over the action area for greater visibility and access
  • Road Rescue exclusive flashing rub rail lights providing dependable auxiliary emergency lighting and impressive ground lighting
  • Standard LED edge lit attendant light with upgrades available for ceiling lights – not causing discomfort to the human eye
  • All-aluminum structure, including exterior walls, interior surfaces and cabinets, provides strength and safety
  • Non-porous material eliminates absorption of moisture and dangerous blood borne pathogens
  • “Patient-Centric Ceiling” design allows for medical devises and equipment to be placed down the full length of the ceiling, providing a work zone for medical personnel to quickly access whatever is needed to administer aid
  • Ease of accessibility, lower ground clearance
  • Exterior cabinetry configuration allows for additional flexibility
  • Stealth power environmentally friendly idling technology
  • Child seat
  • Increased interior head room (72’’)
  • Chassis availability – largest chassis pool in the industry
  • Ford QVM and Federal Triple K Ambulance Standards certified
  • Rear chevron lighting for greater safety
  • One of the best overall warranties in the industry

Road Rescue attributes much of its success to its strong nationwide dealer network, many of whom have been with the company since 1976.

Headquartered in Winter Park, Florida, Road Rescue is an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Company. For more information on Road Rescue or to reach a dealer please visit www.roadrescue.com/
