Deputy Director North Texas Emergency Communications Center (NTECC)
The North Texas Emergency Communications Center (NTECC) is seeking a highly skilled, technically competent Deputy Director to plan and direct the operations of the facility, a multi-disciplinary 9-1-1 and emergency communications organization, to ensure provision of emergency call receiving and dispatching services to the agencies being served.
The NTECC is composed of four partner cities: Addison, Coppell, Farmers Branch, and Carrollton. The four cities provide police, fire, and EMS services to an approximate resident population of 220,000. Daytime populations are significantly higher. The Deputy Director of the NTECC works with considerable independence under the direction of the Executive Director. The individual must demonstrate a strong leadership presence that promotes the NTECC mission, vision and strategic plans, and provide the highest quality of service to the agencies and communities being served.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, or related field; and, successful work experience as an Operations Manager or Senior Operations Supervisor of a public safety communications center, preferably multi-jurisdictional, serving Law Enforcement and Fire/Emergency Medical Services with a combined population of 200,000 or greater. Or, Associates Degree including courses in Fire, EMS and/or Police administration, PLUS: Five (5) years of experience as an Operations Manager or Senior Operations Supervisor of a public safety communications center serving Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS with a combined population of 200,000 or greater. Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
