From the Field: 2nd Alarm Vacant Dwelling Fire in Camden City, NJ

On August 7th, 2014 around 2 A.M a dwelling fire was reported on the 700 block of Spruce Street in Camden City.

Companies arrived with heavy fire conditions from a two-story dwelling with extension. Companies arrived and secured water supplies and went into operation with a 2 ½” hand line. A 2nd Alarm was transmitted.

At the 10 minute mark Command reported multiple hand lines in operation with heavy fire throughout. The Ladder Company set up to go in operation with the Ladder Pipe.  Command reported fire conditions in 3dwellings.

Crews remained in defensive operations to bring the fire under control.  No firefighter injuries were reported.  The dwellings were reported to be vacant.
