On November 2nd 2012, a building fire was reported at 27th St. and Federal St. in East Camden near the firehouse.

Battalion 2 arrived and reported a 1 story vacant building with heavy smoke and fire showing.  The All Hands box was struck as Command reported a gas fed fire in the rear of the building with heavy fire conditions.

Engine 9 and Engine 11 secured water supplies as Ladder 3 and Ladder 1 went into operation with Ladder Pipes for defensive operations.  Multiple 2 ½” hand lines were placed In operation.

Crews protected the occupied exposures several feet away from the original fire building and prevented fire extension.

Command reported heavy fire conditions throughout the building with companies remaining in operation with Ladder Pipes.

One firefighter was treated for minor injuries.  The fire was knocked down and placed under control with no extension beyond the fire building.

Designated Rescue Company members stand by while members of Ladder Company 3 maintain an exterior attack on the heavily-involved building.
