On August 1st, 2012 multiple calls were being received for a building on fire at 1901 E. Westmoreland Street in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia around 9:30 A.M.

Companies arrived with heavy fire and smoke conditions from a 75x100 building consisting of 19 garages.  The All Hands box was struck.

Command reported companies were setting up for defensive operations with heavy fire and smoke throughout the building. The 2nd Alarm was transmitted.

Crews worked to open up the building as a Tower Ladder was set up along with multiple 2 ½” hand lines.

Crews worked to bring the fire under control in 61 minutes.

The building belonged to the Latin Cruisers Club and housed approx. 15 antique cars valued at $1 million according the owner during a press release.

A worker in the building reported hearing a pop and seeing flames while inside the building.

The fire is under investigation.
