Firefighters in Fort Worth, Texas, battle an early morning fire in the city's historical district on January 24, 2012. The report came into 9-1-1 shortly after 3AM, and took several hours to extinguish.  The fire heavily damaged the Victorian Apartments on Hemphill Street, a vacant 1920s-era structure that has a local historic designation but has also been a neighborhood trouble spot.  The owner's son told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the building may have to be demolished.

No injuries were reported.  A Fire Department spokesman told the Star-Telegram that it was the second fire at the complex in less than a year.

The two-story Craftsman-style building was built in 1921 for the Management Co. of Texas, the newspaper reported. In May, Historic Fort Worth added it to a Most Endangered Places List.
