Flanders, NJ: Motor Vehicle Accident & Extrication
Firefighters from Flanders Fire Company #1 and Rescue Squad Monday night extricated the driver of a small sports car that ran under a guard rail on Route 206 near the south entrance to Overlook (Oakwood) Apartments. Firefighters used saws, hand tools and hydraulic rescue tools to cut the guard rail so they could gain access to the driver's side of the car, then cut off the door and roof of the car. The driver was removed from the vehicle and treated and transported by emergency medical technicians from Flanders Fire Company #1 and Rescue Squad and paramedics from Saint Clare's Hospital. Mount Olive Police are investigating the accident.
