C4i, Inc. recently debuted the sixth release of its award winning SwitchplusIP™  product, complete with newly upgraded features.

C4i’s SwitchplusIP family includes SwitchplusIP Command-Post, a communication system designed especially to cater for larger multiple or single agency emergency response applications in both fixed and transportable formats; SwitchplusIP Command-Center, which provides all the functionality required by a single or joint agency operations center to communicate with distributed and deployed resources; and SwitchplusIP Mobile-Dismount, a compact, modular, IP based Intercommunications System (ICS) for first responders suitable for in-vehicle or dismount based applications.

The latest version of the SwitchplusIP product builds upon the personal phonebook and other features introduced earlier this year to provide a radio activity log, integrated voting, remote control of Tait TB8100 radios and enhanced configurability.  “The Activity Log benefits the user and the maintainer—Maintainers can use this information to assist with system fault finding,” said C4i President Brad Kay. “The data can be exported to reports to enable System administrators analyze activity levels over a period of time to assist with staffing.”

Additional benefits of the new improvements include: The radio configuration function allows reconfiguration of remote radios from a central location; and the Configuration Module enhancements allow the system administrator/maintainer to more easily customize the system to meet the specific needs of his/her users, and to provide a tailored user interface from a COTS product.

C4i’s inspiration for these recent upgrades came directly from their customers: The TAIT TB81000 support was added to meet the specific requirements of a port authority customer that is using those radios; while the Radio Activity function and the enhanced configurability were features added as a result of customer consultation.
