Ohio Woman arrested for calling 9-1-1 about bad Chinese food
Alliance, Ohio, Police report that they arrested a 44-year-old woman for 9-1-1 misuse after she called 9-1-1 to report that the Chinese food she ordered at a restaurant was "not up to par for her liking.”
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, July 6, when Tracey McCloud, of Alliance, was reported to have placed the call to the emergency number from inside Main Moon Chinese Restaurant. The woman had no emergency requiring the use of the 9-1-1 system and was subsequently arrested for "Misuse of 9-1-1," which is a misdemeanor, reported Alliance Police on their Facebook page.
Alliance Police Department reminds residents “that 9-1-1 calls are for emergencies only and the misuse of the system delays dispatchers from taking calls of people with actual emergencies.”
