National Joint TERT Initiative facilitates dispatcher mutual aid teams
The National Joint TERT Initiative (NJTI) is a partnership between APCO and NENA that has worked to develop the many facets of a Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (TERT) program and to help states develop who do not yet have an active TERT program. TERT involves a comprehensive program that includes assistance to individual states in developing programs that would lead to the establishment of predetermined and selected trained teams of individuals who can be mobilized quickly and deployed to assist communications centers during disasters.
The NJTI, who along with the NENA Contingency Planning Committee, developed the content for the American National Standard, APCO/NENA ANS 1.105.1-2009 Standard for Telecommunicator Emergency Response Taskforce (TERT). The NJTI continues it work to help states develop state program.
The NJTI has made several changes to its national web site, including access to the TERT State Coordinator Guidebook, which is now available as a reference and resource, plus bio's of NJTI Board Members and links to TERT Facebook and Twitter pages.
