National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week April 14-20

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is recognized April 14-20 this year.  Celebrate the special people who perform critical work every day at the nation's public safety emergency communications centers.

Find more information about this special week at APCO's NTW Web site.

See also 911 Dispatch for NTW history as well as important ideas and links about ways to recognize your dispatchers during their Week.

April is also 9-1-1 Education Month.  See the NENA web site for more information and public education tools

A Facebook page was created in 2010 in honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week, dedicated "to all of the men and women staffing our Nation's PSAPs."

Facebook users can "like" the NPSTW page and keep up to date about press conferences, public announcements, banquets, and PSAP parties that 9-1-1 agencies across the country are having to celebrate the importance of public safety telecommunicators, as honored the second week of April during National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week.

It's not only a great way to learn what other PSAPs are doing to recognize their dispatchers, but also presents lots of ideas about public education and ways to honor public safety dispatchers in your own 9-1-1 Center.

Facebook members can join the NPSTW page at https://www.facebook.com/ntw911
