Celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week on Facebook
A Facebook page was created in 2010 in honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week, dedicated "to all of the men and women staffing our Nation's PSAPs."
Facebook users can "like" the NPSTW page and keep up to date about press conferences, public announcements, banquets, and PSAP parties that 9-1-1 agencies across the country are having to celebrate the importance of public safety telecommunicators, as honored the second week of April during National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week.
It's not only a great way to learn what other PSAPs are doing to recognize their dispatchers, but also presents lots of ideas about public education and ways to honor public safety dispatchers in your own 9-1-1 Center.
