School Safety: Retired Police Officer and Her Daughter Launch AttachaPack: Safety-Focused Kids Backpack
Options include wearable technology, bulletproof backpack, and hundreds of interchangeable zip-on pockets
The innovation of a retired police officer and 9-1-1 dispatcher, AttachaPack™, launched in 2013, is offering backpacks with interchangeable pockets aimed at creating fun, personalized looks for kids and peace of mind safety options for parents. The pockets zip on and off for hundreds of possible looks.
AttachaPack™ offers a suite of tech and safety options: a GPS system (so you can track your child), solar panel (to charge mobile devices), and bulletproof shield. With 26 years’ experience in law enforcement, founder Christina Thomas melds extensive knowledge of school safety with current technologies and design to offer a functional backpack unique to every owner. The tech and safety options are described in detail on the site http://attachapack.com/10-tech-safety.
“It’s a dream come true to combine my entrepreneurial upbringing and years in uniform to benefit families,” said Thomas. While a police officer in San Jose, California, she set out to create a product that would give kids creative license and utilize technology to offer parents some certainty in an increasingly uncertain world. Her goal: to help quell the “what if” worries about school violence in parents’ minds.
AttachaPack backpacks are available at www.AttachaPack.com. A virtual Backpack Builder lets customers design and order backpacks in real time. Three styles and myriad patterns allow for hundreds of combinations, and more patterns are offered regularly. AttachaPack will soon offer licensed properties on the pockets. For inspiration, suggestions from the AttachaPack Backpack Stylist pop up while building the backpack and readymade packs are available.
