Emergency/Triage Light brightens up fire/crime scenes
Southwest Synergistic Solutions, LLC, developer of the Emergency/Triage Light is now offering a kit for use by Police, EMS and Fire personnel. Each kit comes with five E/T Lights, ten aluminum stakes, one VS17-CIV (6’X2’) panel, all inside a 8” X 6” X 3” first responder pouch. Great for setting up LZ/HZ zones during day/ night MCI’s it has been stated the E/T Light itself is "a simple tool that is a force multiplier in CASEVAC." The E/T Lights are part of the Department of Defenses, Domestic Preparedness Support Initiative and are referenced by FEMA’s Responders Knowledge Base, Standardized Equipment List (SEL).
The kits are available in IR versions, V2 and V6.8IR, offering IR/Red/Green/Blue in each E/T Light or the all visible color versions, V5L, 5NL, and V6.8A, offering Red/Yellow/Green/Blue in each E/T Light. Responders now have the ability to color code different LZ/HZ sites at night utilizing the same kits. Besides LZ/HZ kits, first responders can use the kits for multiple non verbal communication purposes. Examples include, tagging multiple responder personnel in order to enhance situational awareness of team member’s locations and responsibilities during night time SAR operations (beats having to shine your flashlight in order to see the reflective tape and know someone is there or who they are), tagging road accident patients to better communicate and aid support personnel in locating/prioritizing the patients when they arrive at the scene (again better than running around using flashlights to locate the patients), utilizing the IR versions to better communicate friend or foe locations from the air or between ground personnel, lastly one department reported dropping the E/T Light along rural or ranch roads to give support personnel a cookie trail to follow in and out of the area, ranch roads don’t have signs or directions. Your imagination and experience is the limit.
