InterAct Announces InterDEx, the Next Generation of Data Sharing and Interoperability
InterAct’s latest Public Safety Cloud innovation enables public safety personnel across the country to easily share information and exchange messages with other law enforcement, fire, and emergency services agencies.
Continuing to deliver on its commitment to the Public Safety Cloud, InterAct, a leading provider of incident-response and management solutions today announced the release of InterDEx™, a next generation data sharing and agency interoperability platform. This nationwide platform allows public safety professionals to better communicate with each other and share data freely, simply and effectively even when they work for different agencies in different jurisdictions.
The law enforcement community has long been hampered by an inability to easily and cost effectively share critical data to improve incident response and support post-incident investigations. “Incident response data ‘lives in silos’ accessible to only the local agency and local first responders”, said Lt. Matt Jackson, with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, “and we know that ‘bad guys’ go back and forth between jurisdictions leaving our officers partially flying blind while in the field. After we adopted the InterDEx platform we greatly improved inter-agency communication despite having different RMS systems and now get the right information at the right time into the hands of front-line law enforcement officers. This greatly improves tactical awareness.”
The InterDEx platform already connects agencies in 7 states and currently shares data with over 3,000 users. InterDEx differs from other data exchanges in several significant ways:
- Distributed – Agencies do not send their data anywhere.
- Integrated – No separate URL, user ID, or password to gain access.
- Effective Front Line Solution – Designed to provide actionable data at the point of enforcement to first responders.
InterDEx has been designed to have the added benefit of being fully integrated with InterAct’s suite of public safety applications so that all products have the benefit of access to the InterDEx data. “InterDEx is different because it does not require agencies to send their data to a 3rd party data warehouse.” said Mike McGarry, InterAct Senior Vice President and General Manager, InterAct Products “All the data stays in the agency’s current systems and remains under their complete control.”
InterDEx is easy to implement and is available to all InterAct customers with a current maintenance agreement.
