Public Safety Dispatcher                                

Salary: $78,044.30 - $94,863.39 Annually

Public Safety Dispatcher in Training

$67,417.58 - $74,327.97 Annually

The City of Sunnyvale invites applications for Public Safety Dispatcher and Public Safety Dispatcher in Training

Public Safety Dispatcher - Under general supervision of the Senior Public Safety Dispatcher, processes emergency and non-emergency calls for service; dispatches police, fire-fighting, medical, rescue, animal control or other emergency equipment, by telephone or radio, utilizing complex technical aids, such as computer aided dispatch systems (CAD); and performs related work as required. The Public Safety Dispatcher in Training performs similar duties as above in a trainee capacity.

The City of Sunnyvale provides an excellent benefits package A complete application packet will consist of a City of Sunnyvale employment application, responses to the required supplemental questions, a current (dated within one year of application) T-Score of 55 or higher on the POST Entry-level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery, and a typing certificate verifying 35 or more net words per minute (online typing certificates will not be accepted).

The position opens March 6, 2013 and final filing date is March 29, 2013 at 5:00 pm or after receiving 150 qualified applicants, whichever is first.
